2 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
2.1. BASIC OPERATIONS
2.1.1 UNPACKING
The following steps must be completed prior to each mission.
1. Open the carrying case, remove the device, and verify that all components
are included.
2. Inspect the device for any obvious evidence of damage to the optical
surfaces, body, eyecup, operation buttons, etc. Ensure that all optical
surfaces are clean and ready for use. Clean all optical surfaces with a lens
tissue.
2.1.2 BATTERIES INSTALLATION
CAUTION:
Verify that the equipment is OFF before remove the batteries.
To install the batteries (refer to Figure 2-1):
1. Turn the battery cover knob (A) counter clockwise and then open the battery
cover (B).
2. Install two CR123A or RCR123 batteries (C) into the battery compartment.
Align the polarity symbols on the batteries as shown below.
3. Close the battery cover. Turn the battery cover knob clockwise until stop.
When the device is on a battery charge level is displayed on the status bar.
