3. Use SMPTE 2110 in VEGA-3311
This chapter shows one scenario that use SMPTE 21110 in VEGA3311. User can reference the setup
and understand how SMPTE 2110 works. In order to simply the network environment between
VEGA3311 and ST2110 TX device, we suggest user to use one 10G switch or connect directly to test
SMPTE 2110.
The PIC 3-1 shows the network architecture of SMPTE 2110 test environment with one 10G switch.

In the network architecture, we use one 10G switch to test SMPTE 2110. The 10G switch also support
PTP function, so PTP Grand Master is in 10G switch.
The PIC 3-2 shows the SMPTE 2110 test environment without 10G switch.

In the network architecture, we do not use 10G switch and connect Tx device to Rx device directly to
test SMPTE 2110. The Tx device must support PTP function, so PTP Grand Master is in Tx device.
