4.1 Jumpers and Connectors
4.1.1 Setting Jumpers
UTC-318 can be configured according to the application by setting jumpers. A jumper
is the simplest type of electrical switch and comprises two metal pins and a small
metal clip (often protected by a plastic cover) that slides over and connects the pins.
To close a jumper, connect the pins with the clip. To open a jumper, remove the clip.
Some jumpers may have three pins, labeled 1, 2, and 3. For such jumpers, connect
either Pins 1 and 2 or Pins 2 and 3.

A pair of needle-nose pliers may be necessary when working with jumpers. For
advice regarding the optimum hardware configuration for a specific application,
