3.1 Introduction
SOM-5893 BIOS has been stored in a flash ROM which is inserted into a BIOS
socket on the board. With the BIOS Setup program, users can modify BIOS settings
and control various system features. This chapter describes the basic navigation of
the SOM-5893 BIOS setup screens.
Advantech will supply BIOS revisions for product optimization, and users can re-flash
the latest BIOS through the AFU utility. Please contact Advantech support for details.

SOM-5893 BIOS has a built-in Setup program that allows users to modify the basic
system configuration. This information is stored in flash ROM so it retains the Setup
information when the power is turned off.
