1.1 Overview
FWA-6171 is network appliance based on 3
rd
Gen Intel® Xeon® Processor Family and C62XA series PCH.
Integrated with Intel QuickAssist Technology to increases encrypted packet throughput. With 64 PCIe Gen.4
lanes available on processor and a further 20 lanes on PCH chipset, FWA-6171 offers extremely modular I/O
expandability. In addition to internal PCIe slots destined for further encryption offload, 8 Network Mezzanine
Card (NMC) slots can be populated with NMCs from a broad choice of GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE and 100GbE
modules, with or without advanced LAN bypass, for different deployment scenarios.
FWA-6171 platform also integrates two 2 GbE ports at the front panel. Storage options include four M.2 2280
and two 2.5” SAS/SATA devices. Optional redundant power supplies guarantee uninterrupted services while
Advantech Platform Management based on IPMI2.0/redfish provides advanced carrier-grade features such as
remote, failsafe firmware updates and hardware-based BIOS redundancy which upgrades reliability and
serviceability of mission-critical network platforms.
