1.1 Introduction
ARK-1220F is a compact, fanless DIN-rail embedded system that features an Intel®
Atom™ E3940 quad-core processor. It provides easy access to essential I/O on the
front bezel.
Rugged Design with Compact Dimensions and Isolated I/O
ARK-1220F is equipped with a dual channel memory slot that supports up to 8 GB of
DDR3L 1866 Mhz SODIMM. Designed for operation in harsh industrial environments,
this ruggedized system supports wide operating temperatures (-30 ~ 60 °C/22 ~ 140
°F) and wide input power range (12 ~ 28 V
DC). The system I/O includes 4 x USB 3.0,
1 x USB 2.0, 1 x RS-232/422/485, 1 x RS-422/485, and 2 x 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN
ports, as well as 1 x Mic In and Line Out. ARK-1220F also features 1 x full-size mini
PCIE and 1 x M.2 2230 E key, and supports a 2.5” SSD. It is suitable for installation in
environments with limited space.
Isolated Input and Output
ARK-1220F features 2 x isolated serial ports and 2 x isolated LAN ports. With this
isolation design, no packet losses will be caused by electrical noise in varied applica-
tion environments. These I/O can also endure a voltage surge of up to 2.5KV.
Multiple Display Support
ARK-1220F provides 1 x HDMI and 1 x VGA output port. The Gen 9 graphics engine
supports DirectX 12, OpenCL 2.0, and media codec H.264, MPEG2, MVC, WMV9,
and JPEG format.
Built-In Intelligent Management Tools — WISE-PaaS/DeviceOn
Advantech’s WISE-PaaS/DeviceOn platform provides a valuable suite of program-
mable APIs. These include a multi-level watchdog, hardware monitor, system restore
function, and other user-friendly interfaces. With the inclusion of WISE-PaaS/Devi-
ceOn, ARK-1220F can be used for remotely managing, monitoring, configuring, and
controlling numerous terminals to ensure easy maintenance and recovery.
