DMX ADDRESSING
AllfixturesshouldbegivenaDMXstartingaddresswhenoperatingwithaDMXcontroller,inorderto
ensurethatthecorrectfixturerespondstothecorrectcontrolsignal.Thisdigitalstartingaddressis
thechannelnumberfromwhichthefixturestartsto“listen”tothedigitalcontrolsignalsentoutfrom
theDMXcontroller.TheassignmentofthisstartingDMXaddressisachievedbysettingthecorrect
DMXaddressonthedigitalcontroldisplayonthefixture.
Youcansetthesamestartingaddressforallfixturesoragroupoffixtures,orsetdifferentaddresses
foreachindividualfixture.SettingallfixturestothesameDMXaddresswillcauseallfixturestoreact
inthesameway.Inthiscase,pleasenotethatchangingthesettingsofonechannelwillaffectallthe
fixturessimultaneously.
IfyouseteachfixturetoadifferentDMXaddress,eachunitwill“listen”startingatthechannelnum-
beryouhaveset,basedonthequantityofDMXchannelsofeachfixture.Thatmeanschangingthe
settingsofonechannelwillonlyaffecttheselectedfixture.
Asanexample,whenoperatingthisdevicein6channelmode,youshouldsetthestartingDMX
addressofthefirstunitto1,thesecondunitto7(1+6),thethirdunitto13(1+6+6),andsoon.
